What is Faith?
Faith what is it, how do I get, and how do I keep it? First Faith is Christ and what He did on the Cross. You need to have a mindset that becomes a way of thinking and acting in a complete full assure and trust in your heart and mind in Christ and the Cross. You believe everything that is of Christ and the Cross and what this means and how it comes into how you live.
You know that the Lord Jesus Christ died on the Cross to pay for all of humanity for our sins. He paid our debt and we are no more remembered of our sins. ( Hebrews 8:12 For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.” ) Because of Christ dying on the Cross we are able to have Grace from our Heavenly Father we are saved from God’s wrath this scripture says Romans 5:9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by His blood, much more shall we be saved by Him from the wrath of God (people faced His wrath before Jesus died on the Cross). We now can through Christ and the Cross His Blood come to God in true repentance believing, being humble, pray, praise, worship, seeking Him FIRST, turn from our wicked sins (true repentance changes your heart not just your behavior which helps you to keep away from the sinning ), and ask for forgiveness when we have sinned ( also true repentance is we are coming to Him knowing we are wrong and that His ways are right and having full faith in this and knowing there is no other way than His). Again we must have complete faith in Christ and the Cross to be in true repentance (I know I’m repeating this a lot but Seek First Jesus in your day above all else, READ the Word BIBLE, Pray, Praise, Worship Him EVERYDAY this helps you to know and GROW IN FAITH AND GET UNDERSTANDING of True Repentance). We have mercy and grace (undeserved favor from God) because of Jesus on the Christ on the Cross. We have redemption (we are redeemed we get to talk and have a relationship with Our Heavenly Father as long as we believe in Christ and the Cross and why He died on the Cross to save us, redeem us and all that He is and we live our lives walking like how He did on earth.
We have Him His spirit that lives in us which is the power and authority to fight off the enemy and his attacks. We can cast off demons, bondages, dark spirits that try to attach to us by Jesus Christ power that lives in us (you have to have FAITH in Him read the word so you know how to fight the enemy). His Name and what He did at the Cross carries much power in ways we can’t even think of! And to know Him to believe and trust in Him (John 3:16) to try to live by His ways you can access His power for your life! In this dark world we need His Mighty power to protect and guide us! Here a few scriptures I have added about this(there are more in the Bible).
Ephesians 6:11 – Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
Luke 10:17 – The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!”
2 Thessalonians 3:3 – But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.
James 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you
Luke 10:19 Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you.
2 Peter 1:3 His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence,
Mark 16:17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues;
There are ways to fight off the enemy to name some Speak out loud the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and having full assurance trust FAITH in Him and the Cross. Speaking back to the devil with the Word of God throwing scriptures at the attacks. Ephesians 6:13-17 says Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,
Take a apart this first why did God the Heavenly Father give His only Begotten (born) child (Jesus) on the Cross? To die so horrific? Well for me these are just my words now but it’s not a death you can forget because of how bad it was and why it was done for all of humanity! And that He (Jesus Christ) was in full flesh he was fully human just like we are today there was nothing body wise that was supernatural and He beared every single whip, slash, beating again in full flesh! God His Father took nothing away to help Him in that moment to take the pain away and the most crazy part is Jesus knew this was coming and Yet He Still Died for Us ( Luke 22:42 (Jesus) saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”)!!!! And He knew He was even dying for all those that were wanting Him dead and those that were beating Him while He was on the Cross. He took it all in and the Heavenly Father allowed it because this was the only way that we as all humanity would be saved from God’s Wrath! This was LOVE that God was showing us and by great measure ( Romans 5:8 But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.) by giving up His Only Son to die this way!! When I think about the death of Christ on the Cross and how bad it’s not something you just forget. I believe that we were meant to not forget the death so easily and what it took to save and redeem humanity. And then you look at the why?! God loved us so much because that is who He is first of LOVE and that’s what it took to save all of humanity was to give up His Son. Jesus Christ our Lord completely and perfectly trusted and believed the Father! When the Lord gave up His life on the Cross we must remember the how and why and live a life close to the perfect Love of Our Father and Jesus. Living a life close to of Jesus is by first learning what His Love is —>the Cross and learning how to live as He did on earth. Okay I mentioned this by the Cross but also while on earth He preached the good news of Salvation. He helped others and so much more. Once you get first know what the Cross really means you begin to see and understand the immersible love the Lord has for you and you begin to want more of Him. This is where you get into His Word and soak into with full intention to really know Him you then know what it is to be in His presence and that is where your FAITH (you fully trust Him and you believe in Him and you move in this way in your life)begins to grow. You begin to grow in your life with living by His Ways your learning Him more You see His Love for you and your Faith grows because you trust and believe what He is saying to know it’s for your best. Oh yes I forgot to mention great faith brings you a relationship where you can actually know its His Voice ( John 10:27-30 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.” ) oh gosh its so good to hear Him and know that it’s Him!!! Man I tell you once you know who Christ is and what He did and the Cross and why, whoa! Then you spend time with Him daily growing a beautiful relationship you can’t even begin to think it up yourself man His thoughts are not our thoughts ( Isaiah 55:8-9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways.) this is really a good scripture to use right here because when we think of a good relationship sure it’s probably great in your head what your thinking but I promise you Jesus and the relationship you will have with Him, and how its going to feel and be His way will be WAY BETTER and it hits you in a way that is so amazing you know you could have never imagined it no matter how much you would have tried!
Alright so far we have faith comes from complete utter trust and belief in Christ and the Cross to save us to redeem us to live a righteous life like Christ lived which starts with LOVE what He showed us but living in His kind of Love not what we think it is. I suggest you take time to dive more into scriptures of His Love so you have a good understanding of how to live your life close to being Christ Like. His Love is immersible and amazing in ways you cant even imagine! The more time you spend with Him you will learn to know this of Him and you will grow to want to be like Him which again is LOVE.
Ok so how do you get and keep your faith well I mentioned the first above know who and what Christ and the Cross(where Faith stems from and what is this means for your life). Learn of His Love his great love for you and how to be like Him. This can be done by starting and leveling up in praying without ceasing ( 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.) everyday, be intentional to be in constant communication talk with Him (He loves you and is your father and friend) all of your days and through out each day (scripture meditate on Him day and night – Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it.). Daily read the Bible that feeds you ( Matthew 4:4 But he answered, “It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”) and quenches your thirst ( Revelation 22:17 The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who desires take the water of life without price. ) As you begin to grow in faith and you hunger for the Lord be intentional going to the Word of the Gospel its all about Jesus and the Cross. Be diligent in wanting to stay connected to Him and constantly learning of His Ways. The more you know of who He is Really is, what He is …Love and why the more you grow in a faith full life. The faith you gain it’s rewarding though you will face opposition and trouble and it won’t be perfect in life chasing after Him but having faith is more light in your life, by having Him, you worry less or not at all, you are calmer in storms trials, you love first and not quick to anger, your thoughts during storms are less overbearing and you have this sense of peace that makes no sense but you have it and somehow you know that the Lord has you and all will work out by His Will and you trust His ways. There is such reward in having Faith in Christ then without. I want the faith that keeps me calmer not feeling overwhelmed easily triggered everyday of my life which is what it’s like without Faith in Christ. You ever meet someone who is so easily triggered traffic gets them yelling and angry, it could be they get a call they have to help someone and they are mad its taking time away from them (there is no compassion or sacrifice for others), it could be something that isn’t planned and they are thrown off the rest of their day. Or someone may worry about every single thing and are afraid of the world because of all the news they see and hear. There are so many other scenarios that I could use to show how being without faith leaves you to feel over taken by emotions that are not healthy. Sure we are in flesh and we may stumble in our emotions but with faith you don’t stay there you know to get up and run after Jesus seeking His presence reminding yourself of His love for you and His ways are better for you. By going to Him in praying, praising, worshipping, reading the word I get the peace I need to live a fuller life and not weighed down by life because I have faith that He is with Me and His Love prevails over any darkness in the World. This is why I choose to live with faith in Christ and Cross. I don’t want to rocked with my emotions and leave me crippled in this dark world. I need His Light that promises to be with us, love us, and wants the best for us. Learn to put Him first, seek him, look and find Him, stay constant in His word, spend time talking, praying, praising, and worshipping with Him first in your day and above anything else so you can know what faith in your life looks like, how you get faith and learn as you grow how to keep your faith in your good and bad times.
